SQL Server Buffer Cache Hit Ratio

Recommended Posts

Guest drosen10

I'm monitoring the SQL Server Buffer Cache Hit Ratio. Results are always numbers greater than 1 - sometimes much greater (1500, for example.)

A hit ratio should always be 1 or less, so what's happening here?

We use the standard MSSQL counter. The SQL statement for this counter is

SELECT cntr_value

FROM sys.sysperfinfo

WHERE (object_name='SQLServer:Buffer Manager' OR object_name= (Select('MSSQL$'%2bconvert(varchar,SERVERProperty ('InstanceName'))%2b':Buffer Manager'))) AND counter_name ='Buffer cache hit ratio'
