Basic Authentication with Proxy

Recommended Posts

Guest EricB

I set Custom Proxy settings, and set user and password there.

On verifying the test, I got the following error message under HTTP/1.1 401 Proxy Authentication Required line header.

HTTP/1.1 407 Proxy Authentication Required ( The ISA Server requires authorization to fulfill the request. Access to the Web Proxy filter is denied. )

Via: 1.1 SXWPRPX01

Proxy-Authenticate: Negotiate

Proxy-Authenticate: Kerberos

Proxy-Authenticate: NTLM

Connection: close

Proxy-Connection: close

Pragma: no-cache

Cache-Control: no-cache

Content-Type: text/html

Content-Length: 732

<HTML><HEAD><TITLE>Error Message</TITLE>

<META http-equiv=Content-Type content="text/html; charset=windows-1252">

From the above error message, appears our proxy is requesting NTLM Authentication. However, currently WAPT supports only basic authentication with proxy.

Therefore, it appears that -

i) for unsecured http sites, WAPT supports both, basic as well as NTML authentication with proxy, but,

ii) for secured sites, currently WAPT supports only basic authentication with proxy.

Has any one been able to test secured sites using NTML authentication with Proxy ?

Thanks

EricB
