how to make test scenarios portable on a different server

Recommended Posts

Guest yingmei

Hi,

My company just bought WAPT 5.0.

I need to create the test scenarios on my local developer server. Then the same tests need to be run on different QA servers.

I see the server name and port# are hard coded when I record the test scenarios on my server. Is there a way to make the server name and port# configurable?

Thanks,

Yingmei

Hi Yingmei,

You can change the name of the server in WAPT with the help of command "Find and Replace". Or you can replace the name of the server directly in Profile file.

Hi,

I'm facing similar issues. What can I do for the port number?Currently I can create a initial variable for the server name and replace that with the server name. But the port number box doesn't take string parameter.Looks like I've to change the server port number if I like to test in a different server. Is there any better way to do this?

Thanks,

Simi
