recording web application redirects

Recommended Posts

Guest Tim

Hi,

I'm trying to evaluate WAPT again and have got stuck trying

to record a session for my website.

A user logs in and then the server code redirects them to the page

they need to be shown.

The problem is that WAPT does not appear to be able to record

this, the recorder just takes me back to the login page again.

There does not seem to be anything in the help about redirects

so I guess I'm doing something wrong ?

Thanks Tim.

Hi Angela,

Sorry my fault I think I was getting confused by the logs created by your program

my site does a number of 302 redirects (ok it should be doing transfers or executes

but thats for another day).

When a test sequence is recoreded you do not record the redirects just the end page

so what is recorded when the test is run does not match the test sequence

and then you flag the redirects as "errors" which may well be the wrong thing to do.

This was what was confusing me.

Sorry, Tim
