Assigning valiable to random entry from combobox drop down

Hi, new at WAPT and trying to use parameters in one page based on variables from a previous page.

By example, website http://library.nd.edu.au/home in the Search Catalogue area, I want to perform a search using different (random) indexes which is in the drop down combobox. From what I can tell, the Hidden variable is basically what I would use except the parameter is not hidden but rather a type combobox.
