Recorder
Recorder
WAPTRecorder records the steps of your activity in browser as you
navigate through a web site. These steps are the basis of your test scenario.
To switch to Recorder, you need to
select any profile in Navigation Pane and click on Recorder tab of this profile in the right pane.
By clicking this tab, the prompt window appears. Click Yes if you want to set
WAPT to start recording automatically always when you switch to
Recorder tab.
Otherwise, you will need to click the Rec button
on the toolbar to start recording.
In the following dialog, you will need to specify a profile for recording.
You can either select some existing profile, or create a new one.
Use existing profile: Select desired profile from the combo-box and click OK.
Create a new profile: Enter a new profile name and click OK.
A newly created profile will appear in Navigation Pane.
WAPTRecorder is the window of Microsoft® Internet Explorer browser
that is currently used in your system.
Type the first URL to be recorded to the program Address bar and press Enter.
As you navigate
through a web site, WAPT records the steps of your activity in browser.
These steps are the basis of your test.
All recorded pages will be added to the Main test sequence of selected user profile
(to the Main folder in Navigation Pane).
Note. If you start recording already having some URLs included in the Main test sequence,
then recorded URLs will be appended to the end of Main sequence.
When the desired sequence of page requests is formed, you should stop the recording process.
Click the Stop Rec button
on the toolbar.
You can add page URLs and requests for resources (images, scripts and
so on) manually. For this, click on Initial, Main or Final
folder (test sequence) in
Navigation Pane and then click New -> Request... on the program
toolbar. A new request will be added to selected test sequence. It will
appear in Navigation Pane. To add a new request, you can also right-click
on Initial, Main or Final folder of any profile and
select New Request on the context menu. A new request will be added
to selected test sequence.
You can change the order of requests in any test sequence: simply drag&drop pages in
Navigation Pane to form the desired sequence. You can also drag&drop pages between
Initial, Main or Final sequences.
You can duplicate any request: right-click on desired request in Navigation Pane and select
Duplicate on the context menu. A new request will be added to the end of current test
sequence. It will have the same properties as the original request.
