Performance Data

The most valuable result of testing site/application capacity and overall performance is the number of pages/hits per second that it can serve under different user load. Note that a hit is a single request for resource (page code, image, script and so on) sent to the server, while each page may include many hits. If, for instance, "Show pictures" checkbox in advanced Internet Explorer options is turned off, the number of hits will be equal to the number of pages.

Performance Data report contains information on the level of performance: the number of executed profiles/pages/hits per specified timing unit (second, minute or hour). Timing unit is specified in Log and Report Settings (Timing combo-box).
Click on Performance Data subfolder of Summary Report folder in Navigation Pane to display the report.

The whole test duration interval is divided into the number of intervals equal to HTML report dimension value. The program calculates averaged values through these intervals and shows them in corresponding columns of tables. If you watch tables during test run, you will see how they are being filled in: one column after another until the last column is filled in.

The Total column of each table shows the results averaged through the whole test duration interval for each profile.
The Total row of each table shows the results summed over all user profiles.

Profiles per second
For each profile, this table shows the speed of profile execution.

Pages per second
This table shows the number of pages executed per timing unit (second, minute or hour).

Hits per second
This table shows the number of hits executed per timing unit (second, minute or hour).

Saving the Performance Data report
You can save the Performance Data report as HTML file in required location. For this, right-click on the displayed report and select Save Current Report to HTML... option on the context menu. In the displayed dialog, enter file name, select a location and click Save. You will be able to view this report later, any time you wish just from web browser. It is also a convenient way to transfer test results to any interested person.
